About Mini Bulgaria (English)
About Mini Bulgaria
Mini Bulgaria (“Мини България”) is an independent travel guide to the landmarks of Bulgaria, written in Bulgarian by a small editorial team based in Sofia, Bulgaria. We write about the monasteries, churches, fortresses and natural wonders that have become symbols of the country, the museums that keep its history, and the routes that link several of them in a day or a weekend.
The English text on this page is a summary. Everything else on the site is in Bulgarian. Most browsers can translate a page automatically if you need it in another language.
What you will find here
- Landmarks (“Забележителности”): the history, architecture and practical side of places such as Rila Monastery, the Belogradchik Rocks and fortress, the St Alexander Nevsky Memorial Church and the Basilica of St Sofia in Sofia, the Shipka Memorial Church, the Dormition Cathedral in Varna and the Church of Christ Pantocrator in Nesebar.
- Museums (“Музеи и експозиции”): museums and permanent exhibitions, from the Panagyurishte gold treasure to the National Museum of History in Sofia and the Varna gold.

How we work and how to reach us
We check each fact against at least two public sources, preferring the sites of the landmarks and museums themselves, the Ministry of Tourism, UNESCO and the municipalities, and we list the sources at the end of every page. Opening hours and ticket prices change often, so we give them only with a date and an official source, or link to the site of the place. Every photo is published under a free licence and credited to its author. Our editorial rules are on the page Редакционна политика (in Bulgarian).
We do not sell tickets, tours or accommodation, and we take no donations or orders. If you spot a mistake or outdated information, please write to us at kontakt@minibulgaria.bg. You can write in Bulgarian or English.
